Hobitti-elokuvia tuleekin kolme

Elokuvaohjaaja Peter Jackson ilmoitti, että J.R.R. Tolkienin romaaniin perustuva Hobitti-elokuva ei ole kaksiosainen. Hobitteja tuleekin peräkkäin kolme. Elokuvat tulevat ensi-iltaan tämän vuoden joulukuussa, seuraavana jouluna sekä vuoden 2014 kesällä.

Aika hyvin, kun kirjassa on vain 312 sivua.

Taru Sormusten herrasta -kirjasarjassa on tuhatkunta sivua hyvin pienellä präntillä.

Hobitistakin oli alun alkaen tekeillä vain yksi elokuva.

Jackson, joka ohjasi myös Sormusten herra-elokuvat, sai Hobitin juuri kuvattua. Kolmatta elokuvaa varten näyttelijät ja työryhmä pitää koota pariksi kuukaudeksi uudelleen, ja se tapahtuu ensi kesänä, kerrottiin jo viime viikolla ennen kuin uutista oli vahvistettu.

And the answer from our perspective as filmmakers and fans was an unreserved ’yes.’ — We know creatively how compelling and engaging the story can be and-lastly, and most importantly-we know how much of the tale of Bilbo Baggins, the Dwarves of Erebor, the rise of the Necromancer, and the Battle of Dol Guldur would remain untold if we did not fully realize this complex and wonderful adventure. Toki Tolkienilla taruja riittää, mutta aikamoista.

Sormusten herra -elokuvat olivat kymmentuntinen tiivistelmä eepoksesta. Luotan Jacksonin taitoon fantasiaohjaajana, mutta näistä kolmesta elokuvasta tuskin tulee niiden tapaan hyvin uskollisia Tolkienille.
