Suomalaistunut amerikkalaisnainen kirjoittaa kirjeitä synnyinmaansa uudelle “presidentille”. A Finnishized American woman writes letters to her country’s new “president”.

They’re kids and they need to use the bathroom

Back in June you tweeted: “Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs.”

Two things, Don.

First of all, being gay IS NOT A BELIEF.

And second of all, today you and your idiot friends went back on that promise (not surprising, but still shocking) by scrapping a directive put in place by Obama that lets transgender kids choose which bathroom they want to use at school. This might not be important to you, but it is extremely important to every kid out there who identifies as trans and really has to pee.

Looks like this week the “president” of the United States has nothing better to do than to bully school kids. And make no mistake – that’s exactly what you’re doing.

Meanwhile in Finland. Last week the parliament voted down one last pathetic attempt by Aito Avioliitto (True Marriage) to strike down the equal marriage law that took waaaaaaaaay too long to come about and that finally passed on a beautiful and joyful December day back in 2014.

The vote took like 5 minutes and ended 120 to 48. But before that Finland’s LGBT community, their families and all of us who love them were forced to worry one more time about whether they’d have to cancel the upcoming weddings, parties and lives they’d been planning since the law passed. Thankfully they won’t and and Finland’s LGBT brides and grooms can get back to the important stuff, like picking a priest (I recommend Teemu Laajasalo) and heading to Tallinn to buy alcohol for the reception.

But seriously.

In more gay, lesbian, bi and trans news this week, a new study found that LGBTQ kids and young people are 7% less likely to try to kill themselves in states where gay and lesbian couples have the (human) right to get married. And given the fact that like 43% of LGB kids and an even higher number of trans kids have thought about killing themselves – and way too many have actually gone through with it – that’s a really big deal.

The study is long and your attention span isn’t, so let me try to summarize it for you in tweet length:

People are happier when they’re free to live who they are and how they want. When they’re not – when they’re persecuted, hated and discriminated against – they lose hope.

And thanks to you, many of us now know exactly how they feel.

This really is a new low in this horrible emotional lows-only roller coaster you’ve forced us all on. But no matter how low you go, I’ve tried in these letters to do what Michelle says and go high. But today I just can’t.

So on behalf of every LGBT person in the US, Finland and everywhere.

On behalf of every child who just wants to pee where he or she feels comfortable.

On behalf of Gavin Grimm, who is getting ready to fight you all the way to the Supreme Court.

On behalf of the kids you and your idiot friends manage to bully into killing themselves and on behalf of all those who already have.

And on behalf of every one of us who stands with every single one of them – Donald, go fuck yourself.
