So you know the hashtag #metoo?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long story short, it\u2019s not about Harvey Weinstein or any of the millions of men out there who have gone too far, way too far and even criminally too far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s really about one man. And his name is Donald J. Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mean, don\u2019t get me wrong, those men are all beyond disgusting and you\u2019re most definitely one of them. You\u2019re an admitted sexual predator, known sexual harasser<\/a> and all-around women-hater who fantasies about fucking his own daughter<\/a>. Heck, you even assaulted Miss Finland<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s nothing new. So then why is #metoo happening right now?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, you don\u2019t have to be Sigmund Freud to figure that one out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I always wondered what it would have been like to live in the 1960s. And after you \u201cwon\u201d<\/a> the election I remember thinking we were all about to find out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The very day after the election I was standing in a crowd not far from Trump Tower in New York as Madonna stood at a podium leading us all in a chant of \u201cNOT MY PRESIDENT!\u201d I figured this was it. From now on life was going to be about kids, work and protesting Donald Trump. And for a couple of months it was<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First there was The Women\u2019s March on Washington. Over 5 million people marched worldwide in the largest mass protest in U.S. History. A few months later scientists marched and around a million people showed up. Those marches were supposed to just be the beginning. They were supposed to grow and spread like the civil rights marches and anti-war protests in the 1960s. \u201cNo paskat!\u201d, as we say in Finland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because just like Harvey Weinstein and all the countless guys behind all those #metoo hashtags, we quickly realised that you weren\u2019t put off by our protestation. Nope, in fact the louder we protested, the less you seemed to give a shit. And as any woman whose been harassed or victimised knows: that\u2019s just how it goes. That\u2019s how it\u2019s always gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hashtag #metoo was started by the actor Alyssa Milano. She hates you<\/a> just as much as Madonna and the rest of us. In fact, if you compare the list of celebrities who joined the #metoo campaign to the list of celebrities who supported Hillary Clinton\u2019s campaign, you\u2019ll notice a pretty clear pattern. Alyssa Milano, Reese Witherspoon, Ashley Judd, America Ferrara, Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie, Mira Sorvino, Sophia Bush, Lupita Nyong\u2019o. The list goes ooooon and on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m pretty sure Dr. Sigmund Freud would have made his diagnosis by now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#metoo is about people who have been victimised trying to take back at least some control. Yes, there are millions of men behind those hashtags. But whether consciously or not, I\u2019m pretty sure the majority of those women have been moved to act now – today – because of YOU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to Harvey Weinstein and all those other men,  more victims are now coming forward, speaking out and pressing criminal charges. That’s a good thing, of course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But as victims of you we have no real power to push you off of us. There\u2019s no precedent, no police or lawyers to call. There are literally no tools available to us besides waiting to vote in the next elections. All we can do is wait in the dark for someone to save us while you sneak into our beds and heads and assault us over and over and over and over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So in the meantime we do what you do. We log on to Twitter and at least try to fight back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
