Afghanistan Military Death Ruiz
This undated photo provided by the Ruiz family shows Marine Reserve Sgt Cesar B. Ruiz, 26, of San Antonio. The Defense Department said Ruiz died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in Afghanistan. He was born in Nava Coahuila, Mexico, and raised in San Antonio. He was assigned to the Marine Force Reserve in New Orleans. The San Antonio Express-News reports his mother, Maria Ruiz, was celebrating her birthday on Halloween when she learned that her son had been killed the same day in a roadside bombing.
