In this April 9, 2009 photo, Anandita Dutta Tamuly smears ghost chilis, the worlds spiciest chili, in her eyes before gobbling them up during an attempt to enter the Guinness World Records, as celebrity British chef Gordon Ramsay looks on in Jorhat, in the northeastern Indian state of Assam. Organizers say the 28-year-old Indian woman ate 51 fire-hot chilis in two minutes for an entry into the Guinness World Records.
Eyelids are not impervious to the natural oils and fluids of those peppers. That definitely gets IN the eyes - omg. Ouch!
I grow these chilis in my garden. I do not eat them raw, or at all really. I dry them, grind them, and mix them with food. I like it hot but I'm not an masochist.
My plant was lovely though. about 5 feet tall and wide. I grew it last season, passing this year as I have more than enough left from last year to last till next year.
